Groveland was founded in 1850 and is located in the Essex County. During the 20th century Groveland changed from an agricultural community to one that is almost completely residential neighborhoods.
Groveland has open town meetings which residents note as “the fairest form of town government” as well as an excellent elementary school system which was independent until recently and is now a regional school district.
The townspeople are proud of their schools, friendliness of the town and recreational facilities along the Merrimack River.
Groveland has many State parks that support baseball and soccer fields, picnic areas and playgrounds as well as river boating facilities that are heavily used by residents.
A long time local official once stated in describing the community “you don’t feel like a stranger here!”
On the first Saturday of December, from 9 am to 1 pm, The Little Red Schoolhouse of Groveland will be overflowing with an array of beautiful decorations.

Formed on Twitter, GraniteSec is a gathering of like-minded individuals and their families. It's all about getting together for interesting conversations and good food with great people. Despite significant snowfall for the second event in a row, we still had 25 people attend in January. The next event is on May 19th. Let's see if we can't set a new attendance record. We welcome all InfoSec professionals/enthusiasts and families are welcome/encouraged.
This event will be held at Veasey Memorial Park in Groveland Massachusetts. The park has a lake for kayaks & canoes, hiking trails, a small play area outdoors and wifi on premises. We have reserved the Veasey Suite so that we can have access to the kitchen. Bring your own beverages and goodies to share. If you know what you'll bring please add it to the food sign-up sheet.
DONATIONS: GraniteSec is a free event however there are inevitably some expenses. The organizers typically foot the bill and ask for donations to off-set the costs. The Veasey Suite at Veasey Memorial Park is $275 for the day. If you would like to contribute towards this cost a jar will be at the event to accept your donation. We will accept Paypal or Square for those adverse to cash :)
